India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to reserve airspace for the Indian Air Force (IAF) maneuvers near the southern sector of its border with Pakistan from March 5 to 12. In response, neighboring Pakistan has increased its vigilance along the border.
Pakistan on alert in light of the exercise
It is reported that Pakistan has become alert in light of this exercise by the Indian Air Force. The Pakistan Army and Air Force are on high alert. Whenever military exercises are conducted in the southern sector of the India-Pakistan border, which stretches across Rajasthan and Sindh, tensions rise on both sides.
Why NOTAM is issued
However, according to a statement, this temporary airspace reservation is for scheduled Indian Air Force drills in this area. Such notices are regularly issued before military exercises to ensure that civilian aircraft avoid the designated zone.
Pakistan's Concerns Increased
CNN-News18, quoting defense sources, reported that this development has increased concerns in Pakistan, which is already grappling with multiple fronts. Pakistan is currently embroiled in border conflicts with Afghanistan and Iran. Amid the major crisis in the Middle East, the Navy is also maintaining surveillance in the Arabian Sea.
