Tehran: Iran's former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed in an attack carried out by the United States and Israel in Tehran on February 28. The strike claimed the lives of Khamenei's wife, his daughter, other family members, and several senior officials. Iran's current Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, also came perilously close to being caught in the crossfire; he would almost certainly have been hit had he not vacated the premises just seconds earlier. A report has revealed that Mojtaba Khamenei had a miraculous escape from the attack, although he did sustain some injuries to his leg.
According to a report by The Telegraph, Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was present alongside his father, Ali Khamenei, in the very building targeted by the U.S.-Israeli strike. He had stepped out of the complex just moments before the attack commenced. Immediately thereafter, the strike hit the location. There was a gap of merely a few seconds between Mojtaba's departure from the building and the onset of the attack.
"Allah Saved Mojtaba": Iranian Officials
In its report, *he Telegraph cited an alleged audio recording of a conversation between Iranian officials. In the recording, they discuss the attack—the incident that claimed the lives of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and numerous others. The Iranian officials state that Mojtaba had stepped out into the garden just moments before the missiles struck the compound.
Mazahir Hosseini, the Chief of Protocol for Khamenei's office, reportedly told Iranian officials that it was Allah's will that Mojtaba had stepped outside to attend to some business. No sooner had Mojtaba left the building than ballistic missiles struck the compound. One missile landed on the section where Ali Khamenei was located. A second missile struck the upper floor, hitting Mojtaba's residence.
The Israeli-American Attack Was Devastating
Mazahir Hussaini revealed that while Mojtaba survived the attack, he sustained minor injuries to his leg. Leaked recordings describe the horrific devastation caused by this strike. Iran's military chief, Mohammad Shirazi, was also killed in the attack. Hussaini stated that Shirazi's body was so badly dismembered that it could barely be identified for burial.
According to reports, Hussaini also disclosed that a missile struck the home of Mojtaba's brother-in-law, Misbah al-Huda Bagheri Kani—who was also present within the same complex. The missile was so powerful that it pierced through the upper floor and penetrated all the way down to the lower levels of the house. Mojtaba's brother-in-law lost his life in the incident.
Mojtaba Undergoing Treatment
Various speculations are circulating regarding the health of Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. This new supreme leader of Iran has not been seen in public. The United States has repeatedly claimed that Mojtaba sustained severe injuries. There are also claims that Mojtaba is undergoing medical treatment in Russia. It has been reported that he arrived in Moscow aboard a special aircraft.
