Chennai: The Election Commission has declared the schedule for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Voting in Tamil Nadu will take place on April 23. The results for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be declared on May 4. The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly comprises a total of 234 seats. Elections for all these seats are set to be held in a single phase. It is worth noting that the tenure of the Tamil Nadu Assembly expires on May 10. Tamil Nadu has a total of 5.6 crore voters, comprising 2.7 crore male voters and 2.8 crore female voters. Additionally, there are 7,617 voters belonging to the third gender.

While providing details during the press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated, "We visited the election-bound states. We sought suggestions from all political parties. I would like to appeal to the youth to participate enthusiastically in the voting process." Gyanesh Kumar added, "I would also like to make a special appeal to our youth and first-time voters. My dear friends, you are about to fulfill one of the most significant responsibilities of your lives."
