Editorial Trust
Fact-Checking Policy
Times Indian aims to publish accurate, contextual, and clearly sourced journalism. This policy describes the practical checks our newsroom should apply before publication and when updating a story.
Verification
Reporters and editors should verify names, dates, locations, numbers, documents, and claims against reliable primary or attributable sources wherever possible. Sensitive allegations should receive additional editorial review before publication.
Sources
Articles should identify sources clearly when safe and appropriate. When a story is based on official statements, agencies, public records, press releases, or social media posts, that context should be reflected in the article source fields.
Corrections
If a factual error is found, Times Indian should review it promptly, correct the article when needed, and add an update or correction note when the change is material.
