Israel on Friday carried out a major attack targeting Iran's capital Tehran and other places in which many senior military officers and nuclear scientists were killed and many important infrastructure was destroyed. This led to a war between the two countries. Now Indian students are stranded in both countries.
The Congress on Sunday claimed that more than 1,500 Indian students in Iran are in a state of uncertainty and asked the Ministry of External Affairs to go beyond just issuing advisories and act immediately to ensure their evacuation. The Congress statement came at a time when Indians in Iran were asked on Sunday not to panic, exercise caution and stay in touch with the Indian Embassy in Tehran through its social media accounts in view of the current situation in the country after the Israeli attack.
