Blast Kills 40 at Iran's Bandar Abbas Port; Fire Still Rages, Israeli Conspiracy Suspected

Tehran: The massive explosion at Iran's Bandar Abbas port on Saturday shook the whole world! At least 40 people died and more than 1,000 were injured in this explosion. Was it just an accident, or a big conspiracy related to missile fuel? On the other hand, Israel targeted Hezbollah bases by airstrikes on Lebanon's capital Beirut, while the US is bombing Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Middle East is on fire, and hopes of peace are becoming difficult.

Devastation in Bandar Abbas

A small fireball suddenly turned into a devastating explosion at Shahid Rajai, Iran's largest port, on Saturday morning. A video from the Fars News Agency showed a small fire between containers, workers running away, and then a terrible explosion destroyed everything.

Iran's state news agency said the blast was caused by containers of dangerous chemicals stored at the port, but did not name these chemicals. According to a CNN report, some experts claim it could be sodium perchlorate, which is used to make solid fuel for missiles. So far, 40 people have died in the blast, 1,000 people have been injured, of which 190 are still in the hospital. This blast is being compared to the 2020 explosion in Beirut, which caused terrible devastation. The blast in Iran is being linked to the operation of the Israeli intelligence agency on social media. However, Iran has not given any such official statement.

Presidential visit: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Bandar Abbas on Sunday and ordered an investigation. He said, 'We have to find out the truth.' Iranian officials are denying linking it to military material, but according to reports, a large consignment of chemicals for missile fuel arrived at the port in February and March.

Israel attacks Beirut

On the other hand, Israel on Sunday carried out an airstrike on the southern part of Lebanon's capital Beirut. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed that the target of the attack was a Hezbollah hideout, where precision missiles were kept. Hezbollah has not given any statement on this.

  • Warning before the attack: Israel asked the people of Beirut's Hadath area to move 300 meters away, as Hezbollah was running a facility there.

  • Damage: Lebanese Civil Defense said that the fire caused by the attack was extinguished, and there were no casualties.

  • Demand to stop the attack: The Lebanese President condemned the attack and demanded the US-France to stop Israel. After the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in November, attacks on Beirut had reduced, but Israel's bombing of southern Lebanon continues.

US bombing of Yemen

The US started bombing the Houthi rebels in Yemen from March 15 under 'Operation Rough Rider', which has targeted more than 800 targets so far. The US military claims that hundreds of Houthi fighters and many of their leaders were killed in these attacks. The Houthis are attacking merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, to stop which the US took this step. The US says that the pace of Houthi attacks decreased by 69%, and drone attacks decreased by 55%.
