China launches online visa application system for Indian citizens

Beijing: The Chinese Embassy in Delhi has launched the 'China Online Visa Application System' to provide Indian passport holders with the facility of applying for visas online. This information was given in a social media report on Monday. According to the Shenzhen-based Chinese online portal Greater Bay Area (GBA), this process is easier than the previous one, which required applicants to physically submit several paper documents.

    Online Visa Service Launched

Earlier, the Chinese Embassy in India had announced on its official social media account 'WeChat' that the online visa service system would be launched on December 22. The embassy stated that the Chinese online visa application system would be officially launched by the Chinese Embassy in India on December 22, 2025. It said that applicants can visit the website, fill out the online form, and upload the application materials.

Which Visas Can Be Applied For?

The GBA report stated that eligible applicants – for tourist (L), business (M), student (X), and work (Z) visas – can electronically fill out forms, upload documents, and complete the biometric process. Earlier this month, India had taken steps to expedite the process of issuing business visas for Chinese professionals. However, there has been no change in the existing verification process for all Chinese visa applicants.
