DGMO Press Briefing: After Pakistan's request, India declared ceasefire on 10 May, with this the war between the two countries stopped. What happened between India and Pakistan a night before, after which even US President Donald Trump got scared. America's Central Intelligence Agency i.e. CIA itself contacted US President Trump and told him that India had attacked Pakistan's nuclear bases. Such news started going viral on social media. It was told that India has attacked Kirana Hills in Pakistan. After this, there was a danger of nuclear war between the two countries.
During the DGMO's press briefing on Monday, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti said, "We did not attack Kirana Hills. During the press briefing on Operation Sindoor, while answering the question of India attacking Pakistan's nuclear storage site, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti said, "Thank you for telling us that Pakistan has stored its nuclear weapons at Kirana Hills. Whatever is there. We did not attack Kirana Hills. It was not in the list of targets we told you about."
Pakistan's Kirana Hills is very close to Sargodha Air Base. It is believed that the Pakistan Army has stored its nuclear weapons here. The recent earthquakes in Pakistan are being linked to the attack on the nuclear storage facility. These conspiracies intensified after India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement and India confirmed the attack on Sargodha Air Base. Some social media accounts also ran conspiracy theories about how US and Egyptian planes were seen on radar flying in Pakistan to test or prevent nuclear leaks.
Our fight is only against terrorism
On Monday, Air Marshal Bharti reiterated that when India launched Operation Sindoor, India's fight was against terrorism, not against Pakistan's army or civilians. He said that India attacked Pakistan Air Force bases when Pakistan attempted to attack Indian cities and military installations with Turkish drones, Chinese missiles and fighter jets. "We reiterated that our fight is against terrorists and their support structure, not against the Pakistan Army. However, it is regrettable that the Pakistan Army sided with the terrorists by intervening, due to which we had to respond in the same way." The Indian Army showed the wreckage of a possible PL-15 air-to-air missile, which is of Chinese origin and was used by Pakistan during the attack on India. The press briefing also showed the wreckage of the Turkish-origin Songar drone, which was shot down by India.
