Istanbul: Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Turkey on Thursday evening. The intensity of this earthquake was measured 5.1 on the Richter scale. The tremors were so strong that people came out of their houses, although there is no report of any loss of life or property so far. Independent scientific organization EMSC said that an earthquake of 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred in Turkey on Thursday afternoon at around 3.46 pm. The earthquake tremor was felt 14 km north-east of Kullu.
Earthquake came for the second consecutive day
This earthquake came after an earthquake of 6.1 magnitude on Wednesday morning near Fry, Greece. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake struck at 1:51 am local time at a depth of 78 kilometers. Tremors were felt in Cairo, Egypt as well as Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan.
Earthquake also hit Nepal
An earthquake of 4.6 magnitude struck Nepal on Wednesday, with no immediate reports of damage. This information was given by Nepal's Earthquake Monitoring Center. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the earthquake struck at 6:11 pm with its epicenter located in Chheskam area of Solukhumbu district in the east of the country. Tremors were also felt in Kathmandu and other neighboring districts. However, there is no immediate news of any damage from the earthquake.
