Moscow/Washington: At least 16 tourists, including two foreigners, have died in a terrorist attack on Tuesday at Pahalgam hill station in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, 20 other tourists and locals are reported to be injured. After the Pahalgam attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reached Srinagar to chair an urgent review meeting and security forces have launched a massive operation to search for the criminals. Meanwhile, this cowardly attack is being condemned from all over the world. From US President Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin, everyone is condemning this attack.
Trump expressed grief
US President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter, "Extremely disturbing news has come from Kashmir. The US stands firmly with India against terrorism. We pray for the peace of the souls of those killed and the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi and the incredible people of India have our full support and sympathy. Our condolences are with all of you.
What Putin said
Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his condolence message, "Please accept condolences on the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, whose victims are citizens of different countries. There is no justification for this brutal crime. We hope that its organizers and perpetrators will receive appropriate punishment. I would like to reiterate my commitment to enhance cooperation with Indian partners in fighting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations."
US Vice President also expressed condolences
US Vice President JD Vance, who is on a visit to India, wrote, "Usha and I express our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. Over the past few days, we have been overwhelmed by the beauty of this country and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this horrific attack."
Israeli ambassador condemns
Israeli Ambassador to India Gideon Saar wrote on X, "We are deeply saddened by the heinous terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Our condolences are with the victims and their families. Israel stands united with India in the fight against terrorism."
Iran also issued a condolence message
The Iranian Embassy wrote on X, "The Embassy of the Iranian Republic of Iran in New Delhi strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which has resulted in the death and injury of a large number of innocent people. We express our heartfelt condolences to the Government of India and the people of India, especially the families of the victims of this attack and wish the injured a speedy recovery and good health."
