Israel Plans New Offensive in Khan Younis to Corner Hamas and Tighten Grip on Gaza

Tel Aviv: Fighting in Gaza may intensify after the recent ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas failed to reach any result. The Israeli Army (IDF) has indicated to intensify its attack by attacking the Gaza Strip. Israel has repeatedly talked about the complete elimination of Hamas, the Palestinian group controlling Gaza. Under this policy, the Israeli army is working to limit Hamas to a small part of Khan Younis city. Israel is trying to stop Hamas in Khan Younis and take control of the rest of Gaza.

According to a Ynet report, Israeli army officials are working on a new plan to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza citizens. Israeli army officials believe that this will weaken Hamas' position in Gaza and it will be forced to compromise. However, the safety and release of its hostages still remains a challenge for Israel.

People forced to leave Khan Younis

In Khan Younis, the IDF has removed civilians from the areas it has captured by attacking. The army wants to limit Hamas' control to 30 percent of the area. Israeli officials believe that taking an aggressive stance and killing the top leaders of Hamas' military wing can help reach an agreement.

Israeli officials have said that last year's invasion of Khan Younis was effective but its purpose was to find and capture terrorists. This time work is being done on destroying infrastructure and moving the civilian population to other areas. This means that after the attack in Khan Younis, the Israeli army may stay there instead of returning.

    Israel facing criticism

Israel is constantly facing criticism from the international community for the attacks in Gaza. Israel is under pressure to provide aid to Gaza which is facing a terrible humanitarian crisis. Israel has been blockading Gaza for three months. Due to this, more than 20 lakh people of Gaza are facing the problem of filling their stomachs. Lakhs of children in Gaza are facing the threat of dying from hunger.
