Mark Carney Becomes New Prime Minister of Canada, Defeats Pierre Poilievre, Creates History

Ottawa: Mark Carney has been elected Prime Minister in the general elections held in Canada. Canada's government broadcaster CBC and CTV News gave this information. In Canada, the Liberal Party has succeeded in forming the government for the fourth time in a row. This is a big feat in the political history of Canada. This time the Liberal Party has done wonders under the leadership of former banker Mark Carney. He has won the Canadian election by defeating the Conservative Party led by Pierre Poilievre. Mark Carney has constantly adopted an aggressive stance against US President Donald Trump in his election campaign, who has been talking about merging Canada with America.

Carney has defeated Pierre Poilievre in this election. Poilievre is much more experienced than him in politics. Poilievre has been a member of the House of Commons for 20 years. Mark Carney rapidly strengthened the Liberal Party in the Canadian elections after Justin Trudeau's resignation in January and contested the election on his economic record. Carney presented himself as a crisis manager. He promised to protect the Canadian economy from Trump's tariffs and expansionist policies. Under his leadership, the Liberal Party has been successful in attracting voters.

    Carney benefited from economic policies!

Mark Carney has been the head of two G7 central banks. He has worked at Goldman Sachs for more than ten years. He was also the president of Brookfield Asset Management and Bloomberg. When the Trump administration imposed several tariffs on Canada, Carney linked it to the honor of this country and took advantage of it in the election. Carney said that he would strengthen Canada's economy and keep the country united.

Elections were officially scheduled to be held in Canada in October 2025, but Prime Minister Mark Carney announced new elections last month. Justin Trudeau, who was the Prime Minister of Canada since 2015, resigned from his post earlier this year, after which Mark Carney was elected the new Prime Minister. After this he decided to go to the election. There are 343 seats in the House of Commons of Canada. In the last Parliament, the Liberal Party was the largest party with 153 seats.
