Islamabad: After the war between Israel and Iran started, Pakistan was among those countries which stood strongly in support of Tehran. Pakistan supported Iran against Israel by calling it a brother and neighbouring country. However, Pakistan's stance in favour of Iran has changed on the 12th day. As soon as Iran attacked the US airbase in Qatar, Pakistan's tone has changed. Pakistan has questioned Iran for this attack and expressed solidarity with Qatar.
Pakistan has supported Qatar after the Iranian attacks on the US base. Shahbaz Sharif has expressed serious concern over Iran's missile attacks on the US military base in Qatar. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed solidarity with the government and people of Qatar and has said that he will work together with Saudi Arabia to promote peace in West Asia.
Talked to Qatar and Saudi ambassadors
During a telephone conversation with Qatar's ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mubarak Ali Al-Khatir, Shahbaz said that he stands with Qatar in this difficult time. The Qatari ambassador has thanked Sharif for the support. Shahbaz also spoke on the phone with Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed and stressed on reducing tensions. He said that Pakistan will continue to work together with Saudi Arabia for peace efforts.
On Sunday, the US attacked Iran's nuclear facilities at Fordo, Isfahan and Natanz with 30,000 pound bunker buster bombs. After this, Iran talked about taking revenge from America and on Monday launched a missile attack on the US airbase in Qatar. After this, tension has increased in the entire West Asia. Although America has claimed that it has not suffered any loss in the Iranian attacks, on the other hand Iran has said that its revenge is complete.
Conflict between Iran and Israel
Conflict between Israel and Iran has been going on since June 13. Both countries have been attacking each other for 12 days. American President Donald Trump has claimed that there has been a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, but the fighting has not completely stopped yet. The tension and attacks between Iran and Israel continued on Tuesday as well.
