Putin Reacts to Trump's Greenland Plan! Experts Predict US Will Get More Aggressive

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated support for Donald Trump's plan to control America over Greenland. Putin says that Trump's attempt to control Greenland is not surprising, because America has long been interested in this mineral-rich region. Speaking at the Arctic port Murmansk, Putin said that the US first planned to control Greenland in the 19th century and even after the Second World War offered to buy it from Denmark. In such a situation, America seems to be trying this once again. Donald Trump has recently talked about taking control of Greenland from Denmark. Trump's plan has been opposed in Denmark and Greenland.

Putin said that Trump's Greenland plan may seem surprising at first glance, but it would be wrong to believe that there is no seriousness in what he said. It is clear that America will continue to pursue its geostrategic, military-political and economic interests in the Arctic. He said that Russia has no intention of interfering in America's plan related to Greenland.

What did the Russian President say?

Vladimir Putin on Thursday visited Murmansk, the largest city north of the Arctic Circle. During this, he emphasized on strengthening Russia's global leadership in the Arctic. Putin did not object to President Trump's plan to merge Greenland with America and said that geopolitical competition is increasing in the Arctic region.

President Vladimir Putin said at the Arctic Forum in Murmansk that the Greenland issue is between America and Denmark. It has nothing to do with us. Putin's statement has been seen by geopolitical and military experts as Moscow's green signal to Washington to pursue its Greenland plan. This can make Trump more aggressive on this issue.

The distance between Russia and America is decreasing

Putin's statement has come at a time when Russia and America seem to be moving towards improving relations. After assuming the presidency in January this year, Donald Trump has softened his stance towards Russia by abandoning his tough stance. Trump has also had a long conversation with Vladimir Putin over the phone. In such a situation, Russia and America, who used to criticize each other, are now soft on each other. Both seem to agree with each other even in many controversial matters.
