Rishabh Pant Ends 2574-Day Century Drought in IPL With Explosive Knock

New Delhi: Lucknow Supergiants captain Rishabh Pant, who was struggling with poor form in IPL 2025, made a splash in the last league match. Pant completed his century in 54 balls in the match against RCB. Rishabh Pant has scored a century after 2574 days in IPL. The last time Pant scored a century in IPL was in 2018. This is Pant's second century in IPL. Not only this, it is also the fastest century scored in IPL for Lucknow. Apart from this, this is Rishabh Pant's highest score in IPL 2025. Before the century, Pant had completed his fifty in 29 balls.

Let us tell you that in the mega auction for IPL 2025, the Lucknow Supergiants team had bid 27 crores on Rishabh Pant, but his performance was not as expected. Under Pant's captaincy, the Lucknow team could not even reach the playoffs, due to which he was criticized a lot, but he gave a befitting reply to everyone by playing a century against RCB.

RCB won the toss in the match

Apart from Rishabh Pant's century in this match, Jitesh Sharma, who came to captain RCB, called Lucknow to bat first after winning the toss. Lucknow's start was not very special and opener batsman Matthew Bretzke was bowled after scoring 14 runs in 12 balls. After this the captain came out to bat at number three. After the initial wicket, Pant along with Mitchell Marsh took charge for the team and batted aggressively.

During this, Pant and Marsh together took the team's score beyond 100 runs. However, Mitchell Marsh was dismissed after scoring 67 runs in 37 balls. Lucknow's second wicket fell at a score of 177 runs. After Mitchell Marsh was dismissed, Nicholas Pooran came out to bat. However, Pooran could score only 13 runs in 10 balls, but Pant remained firm even after the century and played an innings of 118 runs in 61 balls while remaining unbeaten. In this innings, Pant also hit 11 fours and 8 sixes. In this way, the Lucknow team scored 227 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
