Tariq Rahman assures minorities in first address as Bangladesh PM

Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Tariq Rahman delivered his message to the nation on Wednesday night. In his first address as Prime Minister, he outlined the challenges facing the country and his government's priorities. Tariq promised to strengthen the country's democracy, improve law and order, and curb corruption. He also assured that he would eliminate communal tensions and ensure that there is no discrimination based on religion.

In his first address to the nation, Tariq Rahman said, "Religion does not affect one's citizenship, whether Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or Christian. This is a country for all of us, and we must work together to take it forward." Tariq's assurance of security to religious minorities is crucial, as recent months have seen numerous incidents of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Emphasizes Economy and Law and Order

Tariq Rahman, addressing the nation, said his government has come to power at a time when the country is facing an unstable economy, corruption, and deteriorating law and order. The BNP government will work to restore peace and security among the people by improving law and order and controlling corruption.

Tariq Rahman further said, "We have taken the responsibility of governing the country with a commitment to upholding the rights of the people. The BNP government is fully committed to this." Congratulating the start of Ramadan, Tariq Rahman appealed to merchants to keep prices reasonable for the public during this holy month.

The BNP will not discriminate against anyone.

Tariq Rahman said, "Whether you voted for the BNP or not, you voted to give the newly formed government a chance to rule. These things have ended with the elections." Every Bangladeshi has equal rights to our government. The government will not discriminate against anyone based on their political views, religion, or beliefs.

Tariq Rahman stated in his speech that the BN government will ensure that all constitutional, government, and non-governmental institutions in the country operate in accordance with established laws and regulations. We want to transform our population into a skilled workforce. This large population will become our human resource. This will give the country a distinct place in the world.
