Moscow: A Russian general has been brutally murdered in the Russian capital. The Russian general was targeted through a bomb explosion in a car. Russian news agency TASS informed that General Yaroslav Moskalik, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, died in a car explosion in Balashikha near Moscow on Friday. The report said that the explosion took place near Building No. 2 on Nestorova Boulevard in Balashikha. A video of the incident has also surfaced.

Russian general fell several meters away

The video shows that after the explosion the car was blown to pieces and fierce flames started rising. According to some media reports, Moskalik was passing by the car when the explosion took place and he fell several meters away. The explosive was filled with shrapnel

The Sun, in its report, has quoted Russian emergency services as saying that the blast was carried out by an improvised explosive device, whose explosive power was equivalent to more than 300 grams of TNT. The Russian news agency Tash had described these explosive devices as filled with shrapnel. Its pieces will be sent for investigation. Some reports say that two people were seriously injured, but this has not been confirmed.

Promotion was done shortly before death

The Sun has reported that Moskalyak was promoted by President Putin and made Lieutenant General shortly before his death. Moskalyak represented the Russian Defense Ministry in many negotiations. Earlier in December, Russia's chemical and biological weapons chief Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his colleague were targeted in an explosion in south-east Moscow. An explosive device was planted in an electric scooter and blasted, in which General Kirillov and his colleague were killed.
