Washington: The Trump administration of America is soon considering imposing strict sanctions against 41 countries. News agency Reuters wrote in its report that according to an internal memorandum, the Trump administration can issue a travel ban on citizens of dozens of countries. A total list of 41 countries has been given in the memorandum, which have been divided into three different groups. Pakistan's name is also included in this. That is, it may be difficult for Pakistani people to go to America as well.
Countries divided into three groups
The first group includes the names of 10 countries. These countries include countries like Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba and North Korea. Visas of the countries of the first group will be completely banned.
The second group includes five countries i.e. Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar and South Sudan. They will face partial suspension. Tourist and student visas as well as other immigrant visas will be affected, but there will be some exceptions.
The third group includes a total of 26 countries. The list includes countries like Belarus, Pakistan and Turkmenistan. A partial ban can be imposed on issuing visas to citizens of these countries. However, these countries will have to try to remove the deficiencies in 60 days. This may be related to security.
The list may change
According to the report, an unnamed US official said that changes are still possible in the list. That is, many countries can be added to it and many countries can be excluded from it. After this, the list will be released only after the approval of the administration. If the Trump administration imposes visa restrictions, it will not be a new thing. During his first term, Donald Trump imposed a travel ban on people from seven Muslim-majority countries. His policy was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018.
Ban was promised
As soon as Donald Trump became the President, he issued an executive order on January 20, which called for making the security and investigation of any foreigner seeking entry into the US even stricter. In the order, several cabinet members were asked to give a list of countries by March 21, whose citizens' travel should be partially or completely banned. The names of these countries were to be included on the basis that there are huge deficiencies in the process of investigation and screening. Trump gave a speech in October 2023. In this, he promised a ban on people coming from Gaza Strip, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen and any other place for the security of America.
