US Military Bombs 21 Houthi Targets in Yemen, Sanaa Shaken by Explosions

Sanaa: The US military carried out several airstrikes in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen on Friday morning. The residential area of the capital Sanaa has also been targeted in these attacks. News agency AP has given information about these attacks in its report. So far there is no clear estimate of the damage and casualties in the attacks. Houthi-controlled news agency SABA News has reported one person injured in Sanaa. The Red Sea port city of Hudaydah, the rebel stronghold of Saada city and parts of Yemen's Al-Chouf and Amran provinces were bombed in the airstrikes.

    21 airstrikes overnight

The US carried out at least 21 airstrikes on Houthi targets on Friday night, Houthi media reported. The Houthis have not disclosed which facilities were targeted except Sanaa International Airport, which serves both civilian and military purposes. The attacks also hit mountainous areas north of Sanaa, where military bases and intelligence sites are suspected.

The Houthi-operated Al-Masirah News Network reported that communication networks were disrupted after the attacks. So far, the US Central Command has not given any information about the new attacks. Unlike the Biden administration, the command is not giving details of airstrikes in the current campaign. The Central Command has been given the authority to conduct offensive operations in Yemen without prior approval of the White House.

57 people have been killed so far

The US launched a harsh air campaign against Yemen's Houthis on March 15. The operation was launched after the Houthis threatened to resume attacks on Israeli ships transiting the Red Sea in support of Hamas in Gaza. At least 57 people have been killed in Yemen since the US air campaign began.
