Washington: America has once again tested the Minuteman III missile. This test was conducted by a team of airmen of the US Air Force Global Strike Command on May 21 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The specialty of this test is that this time the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile equipped with a single Mark-21 High Fidelity Re-entry Vehicle has been launched. This has increased America's ability to launch a nuclear attack manifold. This missile is capable of attacking any corner of the world. This is such a ballistic missile that it is very difficult to stop with the help of air defense system.


US Global Strike Command issued a statement


The US Air Force said, "The Western Test Range at Vandenberg Space Force Base serves as the primary test site for Air Force Global Strike Command's deterrent capability. This test launch is part of routine activities designed to demonstrate that the United States' nuclear deterrent remains safe, reliable and effective in deterring 21st century threats and reassuring our allies. More than 300 similar tests have been conducted in the past. This test is part of the nation's continued commitment to maintaining a credible deterrent and is not a reaction to current world events."


America said it is important for security


Air Force Global Strike Command commander General Thomas Bussiere said, "This ICBM test launch underscores the nation's nuclear deterrent power and the readiness of the ICBM leg of the triad." "This powerful security is maintained by dedicated airmen - missileers, defenders, helicopter operators and the teams that support them - who ensure the security of the nation and its allies." Vandenberg's 377th Test and Evaluation Group oversaw the test launch. It is the nation's only dedicated ICBM test organization that professionally conducts tests that accurately measure the current and future potential of the ICBM force.

The full name of the Minuteman III missile is LGM-30G Minuteman-III. The L in LGM stands for Silo Launch Missile. It has been set as a code by the US Defense Ministry. G stands for Ground Attack and M stands for Guided Missile. Not only this, the 30 added to its name is for the Minuteman series missiles and the G after it indicates the current Minuteman-3 missile. Three solid propellant rocket motors have been used to power this missile. Its first stage uses ATK M55A1, second ATK SR-19 and third ATK SR-73 engine. The weight of Minuteman-III missile is 36,030 kg.


Minuteman III missile can strike up to 10000 km


The range of Minuteman-III is said to be around 10000 km. Not only this, Minuteman-3 missile is capable of flying at a speed of 24,000 km per hour. Three warheads can be installed in it. This means that this missile can launch a nuclear attack at three places simultaneously. The cost of one unit of Minuteman-3 is 7 million dollars. Currently, America has 530 active units of Minuteman-3. Minuteman-III missile has been manufactured by American company Boeing Defense.
