Islamabad: Amid the fear of war with India, there are reports that Turkey has sent a stockpile of weapons to Pakistan. It has been claimed that cargo flights carrying a stockpile of weapons from Turkey have reached Islamabad. Turkey has taken the step of sending weapons to Pakistan at a time when tensions between India and Pakistan have increased a lot after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. This is the same Turkey where India was among the first countries to help after the earthquake. But this is the same Turkey, which has first sent a stockpile of weapons to Pakistan to shed India's blood. Turkish Air Force's C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft carrying weapons arrived in Karachi on Sunday. According to unconfirmed sources, at least 6 C-130 cargo fighter planes from Turkey have reached Islamabad.
Apart from Karachi, 6 C-130 planes have reportedly landed at a military base in Islamabad. Pakistan, which cannot face India alone, has got the support of Turkey, which has long wanted to see India destabilized. Both Turkey and Pakistan have confirmed the transfer of weapons. However, it has not been confirmed yet which weapons have been sent in the shipment.
Turkey sent weapons to Pakistan
Turkey has stood with Pakistan at a time when India has talked about taking strict action against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack. Earlier, China has also sent PL-15 missiles to Pakistan, which Pakistan has installed in its JF-17 fighter planes. It is believed that Turkey has sent drones to Pakistan. Although we are not confirming, many people in Pakistan have claimed on social media that the weapons sent by Turkey to Pakistan may include Bayraktar TB2 drones, small arms, smart bombs and guided missile systems. Pakistan and Turkey have had arms agreements before. Recently, when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Pakistan, an arms agreement was also signed between the two countries.
Turkey and Pakistan had decided to transform their friendship into a strategic partnership on the basis of Islamic brotherhood. Turkey has signed several arms agreements, especially to help Pakistan against India. Turkey often helps Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. On the other hand, the Pakistan Air Force has activated major air bases including Pensi, Skardu and Swat in response to growing regional tensions with India. Currently, F-16, J-10 and JF-17 fighter jets are deployed at these bases, with combat air patrols (CAP) already underway.
