After Rafale, Pakistan claims it tracked Indian Navy’s P-8I aircraft

After Rafale, Pakistan claims it tracked Indian Navy’s P-8I aircraft

Islamabad: Psychological warfare takes place before the real war and Pakistanis are no match in it. Pakistanis are spreading propaganda on social media and various news channels, lying. Pakistanis lie so cleanly that at first glance it seems true. For two days, Pakistanis were shouting that their J-10C fighter jet had jammed the Indian Rafale, due to which Rafale had to make an emergency landing. But we showed you with a fact check on Navbharat Times how it is not possible for Pakistani fighter jets to do so. Now Pakistanis have released a video footage and claimed that they have tracked Indian Navy's P-8I aircraft in the sea. The video is being shared on the social media accounts of Pakistani journalists and Pakistanis, from the Pakistani Navy's X account.

Therefore, it becomes necessary for us to make you aware of the lies of the Pakistanis. Pakistan claimed that its navy has tracked the Indian Navy's P-8I aircraft, which is a state-of-the-art maritime patrol and anti-submarine aircraft. The Pakistan Navy has claimed to have tracked it under "Vigilant Watch" on the night of May 4-5.

    The reality of Pakistan's claims

The Indian Navy's maritime surveillance aircraft P-8I, which Pakistan has claimed to have "tracked", surprisingly, was already visible live on the flight tracking website! Pak Navy spokesperson Commodore Ahmed Hussain made this claim on the social media platform X, but his claim backfired badly. Pakistan's announcement soon turned out to be more of a comic act than propaganda. Experts and social media users from India and around the world busted this "alleged operation".

Actually, P-8I is an advanced maritime patrol aircraft of the Indian Navy, which is based on the Boeing 737 airframe. This aircraft is specially designed for searching submarines, monitoring surface ships, and electronic intelligence. This is not a stealth aircraft. Rather, its purpose is to openly show the enemy that India is watching. This was the reason why on May 4, this aircraft was broadcasting its location on open-source platforms like FlightRadar24. That is, the whole world could already see where the aircraft was flying. That is, neither was it a secret mission nor was tracking it a big achievement. Indian defense experts say that the purpose of the P-8I aircraft is to make Pakistan realize that India's surveillance eyes are present all the time... and there was nothing secret in it. That is, tracking the P-8I is like seeing a police vehicle parked at the intersection and saying that look, we have seen the police. That is, the Pakistanis are making noise about tracking the aircraft which is itself showing its location online.

The Pakistanis are experts in spreading propaganda

That is, open-source intelligence like FlightRadar24 has exposed Pakistan. This incident tells an important thing that now the war is not just about weapons, but also about information and narrative. By using open-source tracking, India not only made Pakistan feel that it is under surveillance, but also trapped it in its own propaganda. What the Pakistani media is making a hue and cry about, was actually India's public strategy, which was designed by understanding the Pakistani military mindset. Aircraft like P-8I do not just do surveillance, but they are also a part of psychological warfare. Showing armies like Pakistan that "we are here and we have no fear", which is an operational statement in itself.

Pakistan's "tracking" claim has proved to be a backfire for it. The videos and posts that were put up on social media to show its "vigilance" reveal its strategic immaturity and lack of knowledge about technology. That is, Pakistan has scored a self-goal. India's P-8I aircraft was openly announcing its presence. Yet if Pakistan is considering it a "secret surveillance mission", then it is only showing its level of understanding.
