Bangladesh Hindu Youth Death Case: Police Launch Probe After Mob Assault

Dhaka: Major information has come to light about a Hindu youth who was a victim of mob lynching at the hands of fundamentalists on charges of blasphemy in Bangladesh. Dipu Chandra Das was in police custody before he was brutally killed at the hands of fundamentalists. Dipu Chandra Das was attacked not once but twice and was killed the second time. Famous Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, living in exile in India, has made this claim. Taslima Nasreen also told that a Muslim employee working with Deepu, out of personal grudge, had accused her of making derogatory remarks about the Prophet. Deepu had also informed the police about this but the police did not take any action.

    Muslim colleague made false allegations

Taslima Nasreen wrote in a post on X that Dipu Chandra Das used to work in a factory in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. One day, a Muslim colleague wanted to punish him for some small matter, so he announced to the crowd that Deepu had said derogatory things about the Prophet. That was enough. Taslima further wrote, the Prophet's angry followers pounced on Dipu like hyenas and started tearing him apart. Eventually the police rescued him and took him into custody. That means Deepu was under police protection.

How were the radicals taken out of police custody?

Deepu had told the police that he was innocent and had not made any comment about the Prophet. This was all a conspiracy of that colleague, but the police did not take any action against the accused colleague. Taslima said that there are many in the police who like Jihad and asked whether it was because of this Jihadi zeal that the police handed over Dipu to those fundamentalists? Or Jihadi terrorists pushed the police and took Deepu out of the police station.

Taslima wrote, they celebrated completely. Deepu was beaten, hanged and burnt. It was a Jihadi festival. The author further told that Dipu Chandra Das was the sole earning member of his family. His disabled father, mother, wife and child used to survive from his earnings. What will happen to them now? Who will help the relatives? He told that Deepu's family does not even have the money to flee to India to escape from the hands of Jihadis. The poor have no one. They neither have any country left, nor any religion left.
