Bangladesh-Pakistan Military Ties Deepen: Navy Chief Meets ISI, Sparks Concern for India!

Dhaka: Bangladesh Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan has met Pakistan's Army Chief Syed Asim Munir. This is the second defense-level meeting between the two countries in less than a month. Earlier, Bangladesh Army's top officer Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan had a meeting with Asim Munir. Not only this, a delegation of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI has also met the Bangladesh Army in Dhaka. This is being seen as a step by Bangladesh's Mohammad Yunus government to strengthen regional and defense relations with Pakistan. Historically, the two countries have not had very good relations. In such a situation, the closeness between Pakistan and Bangladesh can change the equation in South Asia. This can be a cause of concern especially for India.

According to the first report, Nazmul Hasan discussed naval cooperation and the Pakistan Navy's participation in multinational naval exercises with Asim Manir in Rawalpindi on Friday. He said that the Bangladesh Army is emphasizing cooperation with Pakistan to promote regional stability. The Pakistani Army plans to start training sessions for the Bangladeshi Army. Bangladesh has also purchased weapons from Pakistan.

    Regional equations may change.

The growing closeness between Pakistan and Bangladesh Army is very important for regional stability. Both Bangladesh and Pakistan are trying to strengthen their defense relations. Naval cooperation and joint naval exercises are a big step in this direction. This can be seen as a sign of increasing defense cooperation between the two countries.

A section of the Bangladesh Army is emphasizing cooperation with Pakistan. This section believes that this will bring stability to the region. This cooperation can help in dealing with terrorism and other security challenges. Amid the ongoing internal tension in Bangladesh, Dhaka is also trying to gain diplomatic support from Islamabad. Mohammad Yunus wants to bring Bangladesh closer to Pakistan and China instead of India. This can become a cause of concern for India. If Pakistan's interference increases in Bangladesh, then it may try to create unrest in the northeastern states.
