Last night, Instagram accounts of many Pakistani celebrities were banned in India. After this, an alleged post of Hania Aamir has surfaced on social media. In this, Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir has been criticized. However, many users have said that it is fake.
Hania Aamir's alleged Instagram story read, 'Only because of General Asim Munir's action in Kashmir, the entire Pakistani entertainment industry has been banned in India and even social media accounts are being banned.'
Appeal to India's PM Narendra Modi!
Another part of the post appealed to India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It read, 'I respectfully request the Prime Minister of India, we the common people of Pakistan have not done anything wrong to India. The Pakistani army and Islamic terrorists are behind the Pahalgam terrorist attack. So why are you punishing common Pakistanis? Please take action against the Pakistani army and terrorists, not against innocent civilians.'
Users said - this is fake!
Soon after the screenshot went viral on Reddit and X (formerly known as Twitter), users started questioning its authenticity. One wrote in the comment, 'This is fake. And the fact that you believe it to be real makes you a fool.' Another user said, 'You have to be seriously delusional to think that this screenshot is real. Please stop embarrassing yourself.'
India-Pakistan tension after Pahalgam attack
This controversy has come to the fore amid increased tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. 26 innocent tourists lost their lives in the Baisaran Valley. In response to the attack, the Indian government has taken several strict measures, including banning digital content and platforms related to Pakistan. On Wednesday evening (April 30), Indian users noticed that the Instagram accounts of many Pakistani stars including Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Sajal Ali and Iqra Aziz, Ali Zafar could no longer be accessed. It will be written on their profiles, 'The account is not available in India. This is because we have complied with the legal request to ban this content.'
Accounts of many Pakistani actors not banned!
Interestingly, the Instagram accounts of some other Pakistani celebrities like Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, Mawra Hocane, Farhan Saeed and Fahad Mustafa have not been banned in India yet. Apart from banning personal profiles, the Indian government has also blocked several YouTube channels associated with Pakistani production houses. Many Pakistani TV dramas, which were once popular among Indian audiences, have now been suspended from streaming in the country.
