Erdogan Backs Pakistan After Ceasefire, Assures Support in All Circumstances

Ankara/Islamabad: Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a close friend of Pakistan, has once again reiterated his support for Islamabad. Welcoming the ceasefire with India, Khalifa Erdogan has said that Turkey will support Pakistan in good and bad times. In a statement, Erdogan said, I am happy that the tension between Pakistan and India ended with the ceasefire. Along with this, he has expressed hope for a solution to the water dispute between India and Pakistan. India had suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack. Under this treaty, Pakistan gets water from three rivers from India.

Erdogan wrote in a message on the social media platform X, 'I hope that the atmosphere of peace provided by the ceasefire will help resolve all other problems, especially the water issue. InshaAllah, as Turkey, we will stand with the brotherly people of Pakistan in good and bad times.'

    What did Erdogan say?

Erdogan said in the statement, 'I want to express my satisfaction with the resolution of tensions between Pakistan and India with a ceasefire.' He said that Turkey has taken a very clear stand in the heinous terrorist act in Jammu and Kashmir and the missile attacks targeting Pakistan.

    Shahbaz expressed gratitude

After Erdogan's message, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz has thanked him for the support. Shahbaz wrote on X, I was deeply impressed by my dear brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's strong expression of support and unwavering solidarity with Pakistan. Pakistan is proud of its long-standing, time-tested and enduring fraternal relations with Turkey that have grown stronger with each new challenge. I am particularly grateful for the President's (Erdogan) constructive role and concrete efforts in promoting peace in South Asia.'
