Berlin: Germany has condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and supported India's right to self-defense against terrorism. German Foreign and Finance Minister Johann Wedful has strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack during his meeting with S Jaishankar. India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is currently on a visit to Germany. Germany said the issue between India and Pakistan should be resolved by both the countries among themselves. This coincides with India's stance against third-party mediation.
S Jaishankar tweeted, 'Meeting with German Foreign Minister Johann Wedful in Berlin today. I appreciate Germany's understanding of India's right to self-defense against terrorism. There was a discussion on making my and Johann's strategic partnership stronger, deeper and closer. We have identified areas of further possibilities and potential.'
Germany made its stand clear towards India
German Finance Minister Johann Wedphul said in a joint press conference with S Jaishankar that he was in constant touch with his French counterpart for information on the Pahalgam terror attack. During this, Jaishankar said that India has zero tolerance towards terrorism. India will never succumb to nuclear blackmail. He also said that India will deal with Pakistan in a completely bilateral manner. No third party will be involved in this.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar is currently in Germany as part of a three-nation Europe tour. He has put forward India's side after the Pahalgam terror attack in Germany. On this, Germany supported India and promised to stand with India in the fight against terrorism. Former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also condemned the Pahalgam terror attack. Jaishankar went on May 19 and is on a tour of Germany, Netherlands and Denmark till May 24. India has good relations with all three countries - Germany, Netherlands, Denmark.
