The Houthi rebels sitting in Yemen are in trouble now. After America, now Britain has also started eliminating the Houthis. Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF) along with America attacked the hideout of Houthi rebels in Yemen. UK and US fighter jets targeted a drone factory in Yemen. Drones were made here to attack international ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The UK Ministry of Defense said that on 29 April 2025, the UK military took part in a joint operation with the US military against Houthi military targets in Yemen. This action was in line with the long-standing policy of the UK government. The Houthis began their attacks in November 2023. This threatened the freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. The Houthis attacked international ships and killed innocent merchant sailors.
The statement further said that the intelligence agency very carefully identified buildings where Houthi rebels were making drones to attack ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Royal Air Force Typhoon FGR4s carried out the first attack on several buildings using Paveway IV precision bombs with support from aerial refueling from Voyager tankers. This was followed by another attack as a precaution in the dark. All our aircraft later returned safely.
In a post on X, the UK Ministry of Defense wrote that overnight Royal Air Force Typhoons carried out attacks on Houthis in Yemen. So that freedom of navigation can be protected, regional stability can be strengthened, the economic security of the UK can be protected and the ability of the Houthis to launch further attacks can be reduced.
Earlier, the US Central Command said that it has carried out more than 800 attacks against Houthi rebels in Yemen since March 15. The attacks are aimed at restoring freedom of navigation and strengthening US deterrence. This campaign has significantly reduced Houthi attacks on international shipping. Ballistic missile launches have decreased by 69 percent and drone attacks by 55 percent. The US command said that due to operational security it would not share details about its military actions.
Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea increased after the war broke out between Israel and Hamas. While then-President Joe Biden warned Iran and its allies to avoid getting involved in the conflict. The Houthis initially claimed that they would target only Israeli ships. But later they started attacking ships of other countries as well.
