India to expose Pakistan in UNSC over terrorism, support from 13 nations secured

New Delhi: After the Pahalgam attack, India is constantly engaged in the exercise of surrounding the neighboring country Pakistan from all sides. Every diplomatic step is being taken for this. India is now preparing to take a big step in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). This step is to start a discussion on cross-border terrorism. India's focus is on those terrorist organizations operating from Pakistan which are active in Jammu and Kashmir. 26 civilians lost their lives in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. India now wants to expose Pakistan's role in this terrorist attack at the international level.

UNSC preparing to corner Pakistan

Pakistan has been constantly accused of promoting cross-border terrorism. India has also raised this issue in front of many countries of the world. India has secured the support of 13 out of 15 member countries of the UNSC to start a discussion on cross-border terrorism. These countries do not include China and Pakistan.

Issue of cross-border terrorism will be raised

India will present this issue as an international terrorist threat rather than a bilateral political dispute. India's move is based on the fact that terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) get help from Pakistan's army and intelligence agency.

Plan to isolate the neighboring country

If this issue is discussed in the UNSC, then the increasing number of cross-border attacks will be put before the whole world. The responsibility of the Pahalgam attack was first taken by an LeT organization named 'The Resistance Front', but later denied it. Indian intelligence agency has linked this attack to handlers sitting across the Line of Control.

Pakistan has made a different preparation

Meanwhile, Pakistan is trying to put its point across in the UNSC. According to the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan, Islamabad will tell the Council about India's aggressive actions, repeated provocations and inflammatory statements. Pakistan says that this threatens regional and global peace and stability.

Neighbor will raise the issue of Indus Water Treaty

Pakistan is preparing to raise the issue of India's suspension of the Indus Water Treaty in the UNSC. Pakistan is calling it an illegal and unilateral effort and a violation of international obligations. Islamabad is urging the UNSC to fulfill its primary responsibility and take steps to resolve these matters. This strategy of India is based on its tenure as a non-permanent member in the UNSC during 2021-2022. During that time India stressed the need for global consensus to combat terrorism.

India gets support from 13 out of 15 UNSC members

This effort to bring Pakistan-sponsored terrorism into the formal discussion of the UNSC is a step in that direction. By getting the support of 13 out of 15 UNSC members, India is not only isolating Pakistan but also strengthening its claim for a permanent seat in the Council. This move shows that New Delhi's influence is growing and it is able to present regional disputes as international security concerns.
