Iran Opens Door to Nuclear Inspections, But Warns Against Pressure

Tehran: Iran is ready to inspect its nuclear installations. President Masoud Pezeshkian gave this information on Saturday. He said that his country is ready to inspect its nuclear installations, but will not accept any pressure. According to a statement published on the website of the President's Office, Pezeshkian made this remark in a meeting with Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleyu in Iran's capital Tehran on Saturday. Actually, he was commenting on the indirect nuclear talks going on between Tehran and Washington.

Iran will not tolerate pressure - Pezeshkian

According to news agency Xinhua, he said that Iran's nuclear activities are completely 'transparent' and the International Atomic Energy Agency has also repeatedly confirmed this. Iranian President Pezeshkian said, 'Since we are ready for inspection, we consider it unacceptable to deprive nations of knowledge, technology and scientific achievements.' He further said that Iran is always ready to listen to logical discussions, but it will never accept 'coercion and intimidation'.

On the other hand, Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister expressed his country's respect for Iran's "principled and logical" stance on peaceful nuclear activities. Nurtleyu handed over a written message of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Pezeshkian. Nurtleyu said that he hopes that this message will 'add a new chapter in the relations between the two countries.'

Talks are going on with America on nuclear program

According to the statement, both sides agreed to promote bilateral relations in all areas. According to the state news agency IRNA, the Kazakhstani foreign minister arrived in Tehran on Saturday morning and was received by his Iranian counterpart Saeed Abbas Araghchi. They then held meetings on bilateral and regional issues and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of diplomatic archives. Iran and the United States have held five rounds of indirect talks, mediated by Oman, on Tehran's nuclear program and the lifting of US sanctions.
