Netanyahu backs stronger India-Israel ties during Modi’s Knesset address

Tel Aviv: Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the formation of an iron alliance with India against the threat of radical Islam. He made this statement in Parliament on Wednesday in front of Indian PM Narendra Modi. Indian PM Narendra Modi addressed the Israeli Parliament on Wednesday. During his speech, Benjamin Netanyahu made several important points. He also praised India for its good treatment of Jews.

Speaking in the Knesset before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech, Benjamin Netanyahu said, "India and Israel will form an iron alliance against radical Islam. Israel and India are stronger today than ever before, and both countries are moving forward strongly." He thanked Modi for his support to Israel after the October 7, 2023, attack.

We will build a strong alliance

Benjamin Netanyahu said, "Together, we will build a strong alliance against radical Islam, which threatens humanity and free nations. An alliance of countries that believe in moderation, progress, human dignity, and mutual respect. An alliance of countries that hold life in sanctity and are ready to fight those who hold death in sanctity. They want to take us back to the dark barbarism of the Middle Ages."

Israeli PM Netanyahu thanked India for its kind attitude towards Jews. He said that India is a civilization where Jews have never been persecuted. Jews have always been welcomed in India. We cannot forget this. We will thank India once again for this.

    Netanyahu Praises PM Modi

Benjamin Netanyahu praised the Indian PM, saying that he is more like a brother to him than a friend. He added that the two of us have a wonderful friendship. Today, as Modi came down the stairs at the airport, we embraced each other. Prime Minister Modi's hug is special. It's called the Modi Hug. It's famous around the world.

Before PM Modi's speech, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "I am very happy to have Modi here today. I have never been happier than to have you here, as a great friend of Israel and a great leader on the world stage. My dear friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and your special delegation are welcome to Jerusalem."
