New Delhi: The attitude of Western media towards India has always been biased. Perhaps the reason for this is that after getting freedom from British slavery, India has become the only nation which decides all policies and diplomacy on its own terms. It is rapidly progressing towards becoming the third largest economy of the world. This is the reason why the ill-will of Western media and their country's rulers towards India does not end. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir, the way American efforts are being made to suppress the fault of Pakistan and Western media has emerged as their shield in it. But, now the former defence officials of the same country have started exposing it. The same is the situation in UK. The scholars there are now demanding a ban on institutions like BBC.
Turned away from Pakistan's terrorism
India had to launch Operation Sindoor in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) because Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists from there, under the patronage of the Pakistani army, brutally murdered 26 people. India's policy has been clear from the beginning that its target is only the terrorists, their leaders and their hideouts. India did not initially target any Pakistani military bases. But, US President Donald Trump not only tried to weigh Pakistan on the same scale with India, but it did not seem that he was ready to accept Pakistan's crimes regarding the Pahalgam incident and its subsequent circumstances. Not only Trump, the American and British media also seemed to be showing sympathy towards the Pakistani army and the terrorists under its cover.
'Pakistan ran away like a dog with its tail between its legs'
But now former officials of the Pentagon, the epicentre of US defence, have started to put before the world the reality of the need for Operation Sindoor and the unprecedented success achieved by the Indian armed forces in it. One of them is Michael Rubin, who is currently a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. While praising the valour of the Indian Army in Operation Sindoor, he told news agency ANI, '...Pakistan ran like a dog with its tail between its legs to get a ceasefire. No matter how the Pakistani Army whitewashes it, the truth is that they not only lost, but lost very badly.' He further says, 'Clearly, there is a problem in the Pakistani Army. Firstly, it is like cancer for Pakistani society and secondly, as an army, it is incompetent. Will Asim Munir be able to save his job?
'An operation was needed for a long time'
A similar sentiment has been expressed by David Vance, a big political analyst from the United Kingdom. He has even demanded a ban on the BBC for its biased attitude, because he feels that it is anti-India. He said, 'An operation was needed for a long time and finally it happened. As far as it is understood, this operation has been successful. If you look at the global media, it is not supporting India much.' He said that this was a step for India's civilization. It was not just a quarrel with Pakistan. According to him, 'I consider Pakistan a failed state, a terrorist state and a terrorist incubator. The step taken by India was good.'
'Cannot trust the western media'
With this, he has exposed the western media, about which apprehensions and concerns have been expressed in India for a long time. He says, 'The news shown by the western media is not correct. It seems that they are siding with Pakistan. They have not paid attention to the success India has achieved. I am disappointed by the way President Trump intervened and tried to enforce a ceasefire. There was no need for a ceasefire....Western media is not right in many matters. Western media is not fair on many things. It seems that they give wrong information in some matters. They cannot be trusted....BBC should be banned in India. It is very anti-India and pro-Pakistan...'
