Pakistan Blames India After Ceasefire Violation—Says 'We Respect Truce Fully'

Islamabad: A ceasefire was observed between India and Pakistan on Saturday evening. However, just a few hours after the agreement between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan to stop military action, the Pakistani army started violating it. On the other hand, the Pakistan government has said that it is committed to implementing the agreement with India with full responsibility. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry has instead accused India of not respecting the ceasefire agreement.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry claimed that their army is handling the situation with responsibility and restraint but the agreement is being violated by India. The statement said that if there is any problem in implementing the ceasefire, it should be resolved by talking at the appropriate level. The statement also asked the soldiers present on the ground to exercise restraint.

    Shahbaz Sharif appreciated

Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif has praised the ceasefire with India and thanked US President Donald Trump. He wrote on X, 'We thank President Trump for his leadership and active role for peace in the region. Pakistan appreciates the US for facilitating this, which we have accepted in the interest of regional peace and stability. We thank US Vice President JD Vance and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio for their contribution to peace in South Asia.'

Shahbaz Sharif further said that Pakistan believes that this is a new beginning in resolving the issues that have troubled the region and disrupted stability. Sharif also addressed the Pakistani people on Saturday night. In his address to the nation, Sharif thanked global leaders and countries for their support during the tension with India. Sharif expressed confidence that issues of water sharing, Kashmir and other disputes will be resolved peacefully.

    What India has said

India has objected to the incidents of firing from Pakistan after the ceasefire. India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said on Saturday that the Indian armed forces are responding to the ceasefire violations being committed by Pakistan. He said, 'We call upon Pakistan to remove these violations and take appropriate steps to handle the situation.
