Pakistan’s Punjab Bans Bollywood Dance in Colleges—Maryam Nawaz Govt’s Big Move

Islamabad: Singing and dancing on Bollywood songs in colleges in Pakistan's Punjab province has been banned. The Punjab Higher Education Commission has taken this decision. This order will be applicable to both government and private colleges. The commission has issued a circular in this regard to the principals and directors of all colleges. The circular states that 'immoral and obscene' activities should be stopped in colleges. Dancing wearing inappropriate clothes and singing Indian songs should not be allowed. The order to ban Indian songs and dance has been implemented on March 14. Pakistan's Punjab province is ruled by the PMLN party and Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz is the Chief Minister.

According to Pakistani media reports, the Punjab Higher Education Commission has banned dancing to Indian songs in colleges. Now, dancing to Indian film songs will not be allowed in sports festivals and fun fairs held in colleges. Also, wearing obscene clothes and using bad language has also been banned. The commission has argued that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the education and moral upbringing of the students.

    Rules should be followed strictly

The commission has instructed all college administrations to strictly follow this rule. The circular states that it is the responsibility of the college administration to ensure better education and moral upbringing of the students. The commission has warned that strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules. Mixed reactions have been seen on social media regarding this order. Many people have welcomed it, while some students have called it an invasion of privacy.

The government of Pakistan's Punjab province has taken this decision at a time when there is tension in India-Pakistan relations. Pakistan has blamed India for the hijacking of the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan. India has completely rejected this and said that Pakistan should refrain from blaming in this manner. This incident has worsened the already tense relations between the two countries.
