New Delhi: It was about a year before Iran's Islamic Revolution. In 1978, Shah Pahlavi was ruling, against whom the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini, was fuelling the rebellion. At that time, Khomeini was described as an 'Indian Mullah' and 'British agent' by the Iranian government in Iran's official newspaper. He was even called an 'old man lost in romantic ghazals'. After the publication of this article, the people of Iran got enraged. In 1979, there was an Islamic Revolution in Iran. As a result, Iran was declared an Islamic Republic. This revolution is called the world's greatest revolution after the French Revolution and the Bolshevik Revolution of Russia. Due to this, the Pahlavi dynasty came to an end and Ayatollah Khomeini became the Supreme Leader of Iran. It is being told that Israel is planning to assassinate Iran's current Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It is being said that its intelligence agency Mossad can carry out this task. What is the Indian connection behind the current Israel-Iran war. Let's understand this story.
Who was Ayatollah Khomeini, what is his relation with Barabanki
Ayatollah Khomeini's grandfather Syed Ahmed Masouvi was a resident of Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. In the 1830s, he went to Iraq on a religious journey with the Nawab of Awadh. From there he settled in Khomein village of Iran. Therefore, after a generation his surname became Khomeini.
Khomeini's objectionable story provoked
Ayatollah Khomeini also emerged as an Islamic leader during this period, who was against the reforms of the Shah. That is why he was arrested and expelled from the country. Meanwhile, discontent increased and so did the Shah's cycle of repression. However, when an objectionable story against Ayatollah was published in the government press, people got angry.
How 20 lakh people gathered at a crossroad
In December 1978, some 20 lakh people gathered at Shahyad Square to protest against Shah. However, this time Shah's army refused to take action against them. Then on the demand of Prime Minister Dr. Shapour Bakhtiar, Shah and his Begum left Iran on 16 January 1979. The Prime Minister released all the political prisoners and allowed Khomeini to come to Iran. The Prime Minister wanted to hold elections but Khomeini did not let him have his way and formed an interim government himself.
When oil prices fell, Shah's dream remained unfulfilled
Iran's King Shah Pahlavi used to hold luxury parties many times with the leaders of Western countries like America, Britain. Ayatollah Khomeini called one such party the party of devils. In 1973, there was a huge fall in the prices of crude oil in the international market. Iran's economy and the Shah's dream of White Revolution were shattered. During this time, the clerics called the White Revolution an attack on Islam. Khomeini was giving instructions to the clerics.
The Shah was in power since 1941, made Iran a modern country
Shah Pahlavi was in power since 1941. However, he had to constantly face opposition from religious leaders. To deal with this, the Shah took several steps to reduce the role of Islam, count the achievements of the Iranian civilization before Islam and make Iran a modern nation, which further irritated the fundamentalist mullahs of Iran and they started calling him a stooge of America.
When Iran had two Prime Ministers at one time
On 16 January 1979, the Shah left Iran with his family and went to America. Before fleeing, the Shah had made opposition leader Shapour Bakhtiar the Prime Minister. The new Prime Minister allowed Khomeini to return. On 12 February 1979, Khomeini returned to Iran from France. A crowd of millions welcomed him. Khomeini refused to accept Bakhtiar's government and declared that he would form the government. On 16 February, he declared Mehdi Bazargan as the new Prime Minister. There were two Prime Ministers in the country. Iran's Air Force accepted Khomeini as its leader. On 20 February, a war broke out between the Shah-supported Imperial Guards and the Air Force, in which the Shah-supported army was defeated.
When America lost control over Iran
In April 1979, a referendum was held in Iran. After this, Iran was declared an Islamic Republic. A government was elected and Khomeini was chosen as the Supreme Leader of the country. The post of Prime Minister was replaced by the post of President. With this revolution, America's influence over Iran ended completely. Both the countries, which were friends during the Shah's time, had now become enemies. Iran and America ended diplomatic relations with each other. A group of Iranian students in Tehran took 52 American citizens hostage in the American Embassy. These people demanded from American President Jimmy Carter to send the Shah back to Iran. But this did not happen. Shah died in Egypt in July 1980.
When American hostages were released after 444 days
When Ronald Reagan became the US President in 1981, these hostages were released after 444 days. In 1980, Iraq, ruled by Saddam Hussein, attacked Iran fearing an Islamic revolution. America, Britain and Russia supported Iraq in this war. Iraq suffered losses in this war that lasted for 8 years and the war ended with an agreement. Khomeini became more popular now. With this, the enmity with America deepened further.
The enmity between America and Iran started with the oil game
Now let's talk about 1949, when a new constitution was implemented in Iran. At that time the king of Iran was Mohammad RazMohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. Mohammad Mossaddeq, who became the Prime Minister in 1952, wanted to nationalize Iran's oil companies. America, Britain and Iran came face to face over this desire. In 1953, the American intelligence agency CIA, along with Britain, organized a coup in Iran. Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi became the supreme ruler of the country. This is where the bloody enmity between America and Iran began, which deepened after the Islamic Revolution.
Israel can assassinate Khamenei
Current Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei was a prominent figure in the Iranian Revolution in Iran and was a close confidant of Ruhollah Khomeini. Since the establishment of the Islamic Republic, Khamenei has held several government positions. There are reports that Israel can assassinate him. Dangerous intelligence agencies like Mossad are involved in this work. Mossad has previously assassinated many powerful leaders of Iran.
