Warsaw: The flights of NATO fighter planes over the border of Poland have further increased the tension in Europe. These flights have been recorded when Russia fired more than 500 drones and missiles on Ukraine on Wednesday morning. These attacks have targeted the western region of Ukraine, which is adjacent to Poland. In such a situation, NATO fighter planes are constantly flying in Poland to prevent retaliation and any aggressive situation. There are also reports that many NATO fighter planes have also crossed the border and flown into Ukrainian airspace. At the same time, Russia has described NATO's action as crossing the red line.
Ukraine's air force said in a Telegram post that Russia had bombed their country overnight. In this, 502 attack and fake drones and 24 missiles were fired from Russia's side. The Air Force said that they have shot down 430 drones and 21 missiles of Russia. The Ukrainian Air Force also said that 69 drones and three missiles were recorded in 14 places, and debris of dropped weapons were reported in 14 places.
Russia targets western areas of Ukraine
Russia's bombing on Wednesday targeted several Ukrainian regions. Local authorities have reported explosions in the western regions of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnitsky and Lutsk. Kiev city administration head Timur Tkachenko said that at least one drone crashed in the capital. Regional administration head Serhiy Turin wrote on Telegram that one person was killed in Khmelnitsky. Turin reported that two missiles and three drones were shot down in the area.
Massive destruction in Ukraine
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy said 15 Russian drones attacked the city, which is located about 40 miles from the Polish border. Sadovy said a warehouse was "partially destroyed" but no casualties were reported. In Lutsk, Mayor Ihor Polishchuk said the drones damaged "civilian infrastructure." Svitlana Onishchuk, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk military administration, said the attacks caused a fire at an industrial site, after which 130 emergency personnel were deployed. Onishchuk did not report any casualties in the attack.
Poland on high alert
Russian attacks in Ukrainian areas near the Polish border have increased NATO's tension. Due to this, dozens of NATO fighter jets are patrolling the skies of Poland. The Polish army's operations command posted on X that the aircraft were deployed in response to "Russian attacks on facilities located on the territory of Ukraine." "In our airspace, Polish and allied aircraft are flying intensively, while ground air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have been put on high alert," the statement said. The command said in a later post that NATO forces in Poland had returned to normalcy about four hours after the Russian attacks.
