Sucre: Bolivia has been shaken by a horrific bus accident on Saturday morning. At least 37 people died in the collision of two passenger buses at 7 am local time. At the same time, 39 people were injured. The condition of many of the injured is critical, so the death toll is also expected to increase. This bus accident took place near Uyuni. Uyuni is called the entry gate of Salar de Uyuni. Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt plain. It is also a major tourist destination.

Of the two buses that fell victim to the accident, one was going to Oruro and one was coming from the front. One of Latin America's most important carnival celebrations is going on in Oruro. In such a situation, a large number of people are going there. Radio Uyuni has reported that after the accident, police officers and relief workers were seen removing people from the rubble. After the accident, dead bodies were seen scattered in the high Andean plains.

    The driver had consumed alcohol

Accidents have been happening continuously in the hilly areas of Bolivia. The bad roads of this area have also been a major cause of accidents. On an average, 1,400 people die in road accidents in this area every year. These roads are among the most dangerous roads in Bolivia. This accident is a big setback for Bolivia. During the carnival season, buses loaded with passengers keep coming and going. This accident has raised questions about road safety.
