Ukraine-Russia war: Russia's major attack, rain of missiles on power plants, power crisis deepens in Ukraine

The Ukraine-Russia war has once again taken a terrible turn. Recently, Russia has carried out missile and drone attacks targeting several major power plants in Ukraine. Ukraine's power supply has been badly affected by these attacks, forcing millions of people to live in the dark. The problem of power cuts is deepening in cities like the capital Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa.

    How did the attack happen?

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia has launched a barrage of drones and missiles in the last 24 hours. The air defense system thwarted some attacks, but still, many energy grids and power plants were destroyed. The attacks caused fires in power houses, delaying repair work.

According to Ukraine's Energy Minister, Russia has carried out this attack "to weaken Ukraine in the cold season" so that the country can be pushed into a power crisis. Ukraine's power infrastructure has been severely affected by this attack and the situation may worsen.

Millions of people in the dark, and electricity missing from homes

After this attack, emergency power cuts have been implemented in Ukraine, due to which the common people are facing huge problems. Many hospitals, schools and government offices have come to a standstill due to lack of electricity.

    • Blackout for several hours in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odessa

    • Train services and traffic lights stopped

    • Mobile networks and the internet affected

The Ukrainian government is trying to restore power as soon as possible, but it may take a few weeks to bring the situation under control.

Zelensky appeals for help gets angry at Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has strongly condemned this attack. He said,

"Russia is trying to make the citizens of Ukraine suffer in the cold. This is a well-planned conspiracy. We need more air defense systems."

Zelensky has appealed to the US and European countries to provide more military assistance so that Ukraine can strengthen its air defense.

    What is Russia's strategy?

There has been no official statement from Russia on this attack, but military analysts say it may be part of a strategy to bow down Ukraine. Earlier also Russia had attacked Ukraine's power infrastructure in the cold season to weaken the country.

Experts believe that Russia may launch more attacks in the coming weeks, which could worsen the situation in Ukraine.

World's Response: Strict warning from US and EU

After this attack by Russia, the US, EU, and NATO have taken a tough stand.

    • The US said that it is considering giving more air defense systems to Ukraine.

    • The European Union said that Russia will have to pay a heavy price for this and new sanctions will be imposed.

    • The United Nations has called this attack a "war crime" and appealed to Russia to stop the attack immediately.

    What will happen next?

The people of Ukraine are facing this crisis, and the government is trying to restore power supply as quickly as possible. But if Russia's attacks continue, the power crisis could take a more terrible form in the coming weeks.

This attack makes it clear that the Ukraine-Russia war is not going to end yet. It will be interesting to see what step Russia will take next despite international pressure and how Ukraine will face this challenge.
