Washington: A federal court of America has temporarily stayed the ban of the Donald Trump administration, in which Harvard University was prevented from giving admission to international students. Judge Alison Burroughs gave this order on Friday while hearing the petition on behalf of Harvard challenging the decision of the Trump government. On Friday itself, this petition was filed by the university in this matter. Within a few hours of filing the petition, the judge gave his decision and stayed the decision of the Trump administration.
Judge Burroughs is also hearing the case against the decision to stop the $ 2.65 billion federal funding to Harvard. Now the matter of ban on international students has come before her court. They have currently put a stay on the ban of the Trump administration. That means Harvard can currently give admission to international students but this matter is not over yet. It will be heard further in the court.
The court accepted the university's appeal
Harvard University says that the Trump government's move to stop the admission of foreign students is a violation of the First Amendment. This will have a bad effect on Harvard University and about 7,000 visa holders. Harvard University had sought a stay (temporary stay) from the court to stop the implementation of this move of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The court has accepted this appeal.
