The US has attacked Iran following a drone strike in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian leadership is furious over the new US military strikes.
Iran has termed the US attacks a violation of the ceasefire.
Tehran: The US has once again attacked Iran. The US described this action as a response to a drone attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz the previous day. Iran is enraged by this new US military move. Iran has warned the US to stop this 'game,' stating that if attempts are made to test Iran's patience, the response will be such that the US will regret it. These developments appear to be putting the peace agreement between the two nations at risk.
Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, stated on Saturday that the US attacked Iran while negotiations were underway. Azizi, a former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), alleged that US President Donald Trump is once again undermining the integrity of the talks. Violating the ceasefire will ultimately lead to a retreat and regret on his part.
The US attack on Iran demonstrates that Donald Trump has no commitment to the principles of dialogue or ceasefires. This recklessness will force him to back down and face regret. The blame game will no longer work.

Tensions between Iran and the US
Ebrahim Azizi asserts that the Strait of Hormuz is under Iran's control. Therefore, rules must be respected, and our control should not be misconstrued as an attempt to escalate tensions. Meanwhile, on Friday evening, US Vice President JD Vance stated that if there are disagreements regarding the ceasefire agreement, Iran should engage in dialogue, but violence would be met with violence.
The latest tensions began on Thursday, when the British military reported that one of its vessels was struck by a projectile (a weapon resembling a missile or rocket) off the coast of Oman. The attack occurred along a route that Iran had previously threatened to block. In response, the US launched an attack on Friday, further escalating tensions.
**Impact on the Peace Agreement!**
These developments come at a delicate time for the US and Iran, as both sides are negotiating to permanently end the conflict. They are discussing the terms of an agreement that includes provisions for the movement of ships through the strait. Under an interim agreement, both parties have 60 days to finalize the details.
The attack on the cargo ship and the subsequent US retaliation appear to be complicating the path to an agreement. Shipping analysts observe that the drone strike has cast a shadow over the flow of stranded vessels and crude oil tankers exiting the Gulf. This could once again adversely affect the pace of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
