    India Wins ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Defeats New Zealand by 4 Wickets in the Final

    Dubai: The Indian cricket team has created history by winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final match. This is Team India's third Champions Trophy title. Earlier, India had won the Champions Trophy in 2002 under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly and in 2013 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Now after 12 years, Team India has once again captured the Champions Trophy under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma with a resounding victory in Dubai.


    India Became the Winner by Defeating New Zealand by 4 Wickets

    In the final match, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. The Kiwi team scored 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. The Indian team chased down the target of 252 runs by scoring 254 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 49 overs and secured the victory by 4 wickets. With this, India won its third ICC Champions Trophy title.


    Rohit Sharma Played a Brilliant Half-Century Knock

    In this crucial match, captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill came to open the innings for Team India. Both the openers provided a solid start and formed a 105-run partnership for the first wicket.

    • Rohit Sharma played a brilliant innings of 76 runs in 83 balls, hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes.
    • Shubman Gill scored 31 runs in 50 balls with 1 six.
    • Virat Kohli failed to make an impact and was dismissed cheaply for 1 run.

    The strong start from the Indian openers laid a solid foundation for victory.


    Shreyas Iyer's Match-Winning Knock of 48 Runs

    After the dismissal of the openers, Shreyas Iyer played a crucial knock of 48 runs in 62 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. His innings kept India's chase on track.

    • Axar Patel contributed 29 runs in 40 balls with 1 four and 1 six.
    • Hardik Pandya got out after scoring 18 runs.
    • KL Rahul played a match-winning unbeaten innings of 34 runs along with Ravindra Jadeja (9 not out) and took Team India to victory.


    With this victory, India won its second consecutive ICC Trophy. Earlier, India had won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, and now the team lifted the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

    • For New Zealand, Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell took 2-2 wickets.


    Mitchell and Bracewell Scored Half-Centuries for New Zealand

    New Zealand's innings was opened by Will Young and Rachin Ravindra, who made a solid 57-run partnership for the first wicket.

    • Will Young scored 17 runs before Varun Chakravarthy dismissed him.
    • Rachin Ravindra contributed 37 runs but was sent back by Kuldeep Yadav.

    After that, Daryl Mitchell played a brilliant knock of 63 runs in 101 balls with 3 fours, giving New Zealand a fighting total.

    • Michael Bracewell was the second highest run-scorer for New Zealand, scoring 53 runs in just 40 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.
    • Kane Williamson was dismissed for 11 runs, Tom Latham made 14 runs, Glenn Phillips added 34 runs, and Mitchell Santner managed 8 runs.

    In bowling,

    • Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy took 2 wickets each for India.
    • Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja got 1 wicket each.


    ✅ India Wins ICC Champions Trophy After 12 Years

    With this victory, Team India has once again proved its dominance in world cricket by winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

    • This is India's third Champions Trophy title after 2002 and 2013.
    • Rohit Sharma has now led India to two major ICC trophies within one year — ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

    The entire country is celebrating as Team India continues to shine in international cricket.
