New Delhi: The BCCI has announced the Indian squad for the ODI series against England. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have made a comeback. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal—who scored a century in the ODI match against Afghanistan on June 20—has been left out of the squad. The ODI series against England is set to begin on July 14.
Virat Kohli Returns
All eyes were on whether Virat Kohli would play in the ODI series against England. The BCCI has included him in the squad, but his participation will depend on his fitness. According to reports, Virat must undergo a fitness test at the Centre of Excellence on June 22. He had suffered a hamstring issue during the IPL 2026 final, which forced him to miss the ODI series against Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the ODI team after three years. He has not played an ODI match since the 2023 World Cup final; this means Bumrah will be seen in the 50-over format after a three-year hiatus.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Dropped
The most surprising aspect of the squad selected for the England ODI series is the exclusion of Yashasvi Jaiswal. It hasn't even been 24 hours since he scored a century against Afghanistan. Jaiswal had been brought into the team following Virat's injury. In the final ODI played in Chennai, he scored an unbeaten 110 off 86 balls. Team India for the ODI Series
