ICC Champions Trophy Final: India vs New Zealand
India and New Zealand will face each other in the ICC Champions Trophy final. India’s strength is in spin, while New Zealand's fast bowling and batting are strong. The team's fielding is also better than India’s.
New Delhi – Even though the Indian team defeated New Zealand in the league stage of the ICC Champions Trophy, it will forget that in the final. India and New Zealand will face each other in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium. India made it to the semi-finals by defeating Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the league stage and confirmed the ticket to the final by defeating
Australia. On the other hand, New Zealand defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh and got a chance to face India in the final by defeating South Africa in the semi-finals. New Zealand has a better fast bowling attack and its batsmen are also scoring bigger than India.
India's team is better according to the circumstances, but New Zealand cannot be taken lightly. Both teams have a 50-50 chance of winning. This claim may seem a bit stretched as India is better suited to the conditions. They have played top-class cricket, but New Zealand's smart tactics and ability to stay calm under pressure make them a big threat.
Also, having played in Dubai before, they are well aware of the conditions as are India. New Zealand has always done well against India in ICC knockout matches, beating them in three out of four matches, and it will not be a surprise if they increase their number of knockout wins.
India’s Spinner Attack is Better
India’s strength in the final will be their quartet of spin bowlers: Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. New Zealand also has their weapons. Apart from the dangerous Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell, and Glenn Phillips can change the course of the match against the Indian team. India’s batsmen have performed brilliantly in this tournament, but New Zealand is not far behind.
New Zealand’s Batting is Strong
Kane Williamson, Rachin Ravindra, Tom Latham, and Will Young have already scored centuries. Ravindra has scored two centuries in the tournament. New Zealand is ahead of India in terms of fast bowling. Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, and William O'Rourke have performed brilliantly. Team India is playing with Mohammad Shami and Hardik Pandya, so if the option of a third fast bowler is needed, the matter can get worse.
New Zealand is Better in Fielding
The Indian team’s fielding is nowhere in front of New Zealand. The team has more than one player who can make a difference of 20 to 25 runs through fielding. Glenn Phillips, Kane Williamson, and Rachin Ravindra are also excellent fielders. Captain Mitchell Santner is also an expert in making the opponent yearn for every run in the field. The Indian team has dropped many catches in the tournament, while New Zealand has many excellent catches.
