Asia Cup 2025: BCCI Blocks Pakistan Question at Suryakumar-Agarkar Press Event

Mumbai: The Indian team for the Asia Cup has been announced. Suryakumar Yadav arrived at the press conference with chief selector Ajit Agarkar. The team was announced in this. After this, both of them answered questions from the media. Asia Cup 2025 will start from September 9. The Indian team will play its first match on the 10th. The title match is to be held on September 28. There was a moment in the press conference when Ajit Agarkar was stopped from answering the question.

The political atmosphere is heated regarding the match between India and Pakistan. A journalist asked Agarkar a question about the match against Pakistan. Before Ajit Agarkar could say anything, a member of the Indian Cricket Board stopped him. The reporter asked - There is a big match on 14th in this Asia Cup, India vs Pakistan. Considering everything that has happened between the two countries in the last two months, how will you see that match?

Before the journalist could ask his question properly, the BCCI media manager interrupted him and cut him off. Before moving on to the next question, the media manager said, 'Wait, wait a minute... if you have any questions about the team selection, you can ask.'

    26 people were killed

In April, Pakistani terrorists killed 26 people who had gone to Pahalgam in Kashmir. Everyone was shot after asking their religion. After this, in early May, India launched Operation Sindoor and destroyed the terrorist bases in Pakistan. This created a war-like situation between the two countries. India and Pakistan were supposed to face each other in the World Championship of Legends last month, but the match had to be cancelled due to protests. Even a semi-final-like match was abandoned against India Legends and Pakistan got entry into the final.

Indian team for Asia Cup: Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Verma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Harshit Rana, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakraborty, Kuldeep Yadav.
