Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars Postponed, Fans Must Wait Longer for Doctor Doom

The wait for fans of Robert Downey Jr. and Marvel Studios has become longer. The impatience for Doctor Doom on screen has increased further, because the makers have postponed the release date of 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars'.

For some time now, the films of Marvel Cinematic Universe have not been able to create the magic that is expected from them. A day ago, while Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man 4' was in the news for its casting, now big news has come about MCU's most awaited films 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars'. While fans have high expectations from both these films, the excitement level is also high due to Robert Downey Jr., who is coming as a villain in the role of Doctor Doom. But alas, fans will have to wait a little longer for both these films.

Fans are eager to get a glimpse of Robert Downey Jr., who became a fan favorite as 'Iron Man', as 'Doctor Doom'. This is because Disney has postponed the release of both these films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio has announced this on Thursday. It has been told that the release of both the next 'Avengers' films of MCU will be delayed.

New release date of 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Disney, which is now the parent company of Marvel Studios, said, 'Now Avengers: Doomsday, with which Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU, will now be released on December 18, 2026.' The film was earlier scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026. But now it has been postponed for 7 months. The film is currently at the production level.

New release date of 'Avengers: Secret Wars'

Marvel Studios had earlier said that the shooting of both the upcoming films of 'Avengers' has started. In the new announcement, along with 'Avengers: Doomsday', the release date of 'Avengers: Secret Wars' has also been changed. Now this film will be released on December 17, 2027 instead of May 2, 2027.

Release postponed due to delay in film production

According to a report by 'Reuters', new shooting schedules have been decided. It has been decided to give filmmakers more time to complete the superhero films. These are one of the biggest films ever made by Disney.

Russo Brothers are directing 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars'

'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars' are both part of Phase-VI of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). These films are being directed by the Russo Brothers. Earlier, the Russo Brothers have given MCU their biggest hit films - Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.

Will 'Doomsday' and 'Secret Wars' break the record of 'Avengers: Endgame'?

In true sense, the last bumper hit film of Marvel Studios was 'Avengers: Endgame' released in 2019. It had earned 2.79 billion dollars i.e. about Rs 23902 crore worldwide. It is the second highest grossing film worldwide after 'Avatar' ($2.9 billion). 'Avengers: Endgame' also made a net collection of Rs 373.05 crore at the Indian box office.
