Released in theaters on March 19th, *Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge* has shattered all records, becoming the first Bollywood film to achieve a net collection of ₹1,000 crore in India within just 18 days. In addition to surpassing the success of the first film—which was released in December—this sequel has also broken the records of several other major films. Furthermore, the movie is creating a massive buzz on social media, where fans are sharing memes and theories, and analyzing every aspect of the film. Amidst all this, Zakir Khan has also offered his praise, albeit in his own unique style.
While many celebrities have indeed praised the film, stand-up comedian Zakir Khan recently took a jibe at Bollywood during an awards ceremony, suggesting that the industry is genuinely envious of Aditya Dhar's film.
"No matter how many congratulatory posts you upload, how many stories you share, or how many interviews you give claiming it's your 'favorite film'—the truth remains that everyone is definitely jealous of Dhurandhar."
— Zakir Khan, Comedian
A Dig at the 'Lyari' Scene
Continuing his banter, he added humorously, "The bomb in the film exploded in Lyari, but the smoke billowed all the way from Bandra to Juhu!"
The Powerful Cast of Dhurandhar 2
Dhurandhar 2 features a stellar cast including Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and several other talented actors. Many stars from the South Indian film industry—such as Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, and S.S. Rajamouli—have heaped lavish praise upon the film. At the time, people raised questions regarding the silence of Bollywood stars. Later, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, and Vicky Kaushal also heaped praise on the film and its cast.
Zakir Khan Had Taken a Break
In January of this year, during a show in Hyderabad, Zakir announced that he would be taking a long hiatus from live tours. Recently, at the Spoken Fest, he revealed the true reason behind this break, stating, "The story behind my break is that I had a significant amount of writing work that I hadn't been able to attend to over the past six years. My health isn't exactly great, but it isn't terrible either. Everything you have read on the internet is incorrect. All these unnecessary rumors are absolute nonsense."
Zakir Reveals the Real Reason for His Break
He reiterated once again that he does not suffer from any serious health issues. He simply wanted to devote more attention to the writing work that he had been putting off.
