Drone crash near Rawalpindi Stadium sparks panic, England may recall players

Rawalpindi: Amid tensions between India and Pakistan, there is news of a drone crashing near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. According to the report, the accident has caused partial damage to a restaurant building adjacent to the stadium. The authorities have cordoned off the area and investigation is on to locate the drone. The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, it is being claimed that this drone belonged to India.

Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was all set to host the Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings PSL 2025 match in the same stadium today i.e. on May 8 at 8 pm. However, the way India has destroyed Pakistan's air defense system after foiling its missile attacks, this match does not seem to be happening.

Earlier, reports had revealed that the England team in the PSL was divided on whether to stay in the country or return home. According to a report in The Telegraph, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) held an emergency meeting to assess the situation and review the security of the players. The report further states that most England cricketers had decided to stay in Pakistan, trusting the existing security system.

Chris Jordan and David Willey want to return to England though. It is possible that soon all foreign players except the Pakistan Super League will return home. Let us tell you that players from many countries including England, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia are playing in different teams in the PSL.
