Duct Air Cooler vs AC: Cool Your Entire House at Less Cost, Know Why It's a Smarter Choice!

Even though coolers are used in large numbers in India, but it is always considered less in front of an air conditioner. What if you are told that there is a form of cooler which can give water to AC. Actually, this form or model of cooler is called duct air cooler. The benefits of this cooler are so much that you will give up on your air conditioner. Before discussing the benefits of duct air cooler, let us know what a duct air cooler is.

What is duct air cooler

Duct cooler is different from a common cooler. This is an air cooler that creates cool air from one place and spreads it throughout the house or office through pipes (ducts). It has a very powerful motor and large cooling pads, which makes the air faster and colder. Whereas a normal cooler gives cool air only to one room and only the people sitting in front feel its effect. But a duct cooler spreads coolness uniformly throughout the house. The system of a duct cooler is hidden and looks neat, while a normal cooler is always in front of the eyes. Now let's know how a duct air cooler can prove to be a profitable deal instead of an air conditioner.

Save electricity, run it all day

Duct air cooler consumes very less electricity compared to AC. It has only one motor and one fan which cools the air with water and spreads it throughout the house. If compared to an AC, a duct air cooler consumes 80-90% less electricity than an air conditioner. An AC has a compressor, gas and many such electronic things, which consume a lot of electricity. Let us tell you that the electricity bill that comes when you run an AC for 8-10 hours is not even half of the bill when you run a duct cooler for the whole day. In such a situation, if you want the same cool air as an AC in the whole house while spending less electricity, then a duct cooler can be a great option.

Cool the whole house, not just one room

The design of a duct cooler is such that its cool air goes to every room of the house through a pipe (duct). You can get its pipe made in such a way that the cooler air will go to every room of yours. The advantage of this is that as soon as you turn on the cooler, the temperature of the whole house starts decreasing in a few minutes. For this, you do not need to install separate coolers in every room. This method is especially very beneficial for big houses or offices. On the other hand, if you look at AC, it cools only the room where it is installed. If you want coolness in every room, then you will have to install a separate AC in each room, which is very expensive.

Clean and fresh air

Duct cooler draws in fresh air, cools it by passing it through water and then sends it back inside. This also maintains the moisture in the air and you do not feel suffocated. On the other hand, the air of AC circulates repeatedly in the room and is not fresh. Many times people may have dryness, skin problems or breathing problems due to AC air. Actually, an air conditioner also reduces the moisture in the air. On the contrary, a cooler is very comfortable especially in hot and dry weather.

Easy and cheap maintenance

The maintenance of a duct air cooler is very easy and cheap as compared to an AC. It does not use much technology and due to this you can maintain it well yourself. In a cooler, at the most you have to clean the water tank from time to time and change the cooling pads. Its cost is also very less and there is no need to call an expert technician. The cost of servicing an AC is more than that of a cooler. The AC may need to get gas refilled every year, the filter needs to be cleaned and for this, many times one has to depend on a technician, which also proves to be expensive.
