England edge Pakistan as Salman Ali Agha backs Harry Brook

Pallekele: Pakistan lost to England in the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup 2026. The team's first match against New Zealand was abandoned due to rain. With this victory, England secured a place in the semi-finals. Captain Harry Brook was the hero of England's victory. He scored 100 runs off 51 balls and single-handedly took the match away from Pakistan.

What did Salman Ali Agha say after the defeat?

If England defeats New Zealand, the path to the semi-finals will be open for Pakistan. This is why Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha is hoping Brook scores runs against New Zealand as well. The Pakistani captain said, "It always feels like it's just Harry Brook. Whenever we lose, it feels like he's the one making the difference. But credit should be given where it's due. He batted brilliantly today. Hopefully, he saved some runs for the match against New Zealand."

The Pakistani captain said, "We started off well with the bat, but couldn't finish as well as we wanted. But there are days when you have to give credit to the other batsmen. I think Harry batted brilliantly. Our score was a little low. Then Brook took the game away from us. We threw everything at him."
