    Fire Breaks Out at Islamabad Team Hotel Before PSL 2025 Opener

    A fire broke out at the Islamabad team hotel just before the opening match of PSL 2025. Players and officials were safely evacuated. Fire brigade brought the blaze under control on the sixth floor.

    Fire Breaks Out at Islamabad Team Hotel Before PSL 2025 Opener

    Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 has started on Friday, April 11. In the first match of the season, Islamabad United faced Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Islamabad won the match by 8 wickets. However, before the start of PSL, a major accident took place in Islamabad, Pakistan. Actually, a fire broke out in the team hotel of Islamabad. Where players, officials and other members associated with the league were also staying.


    It was the Serena Hotel where the fire broke out. The accident took place on the sixth floor of the hotel. The district administration said that the fire broke out on the top floor and the fire brigade immediately took control of the situation. It is a matter of relief that no player or official suffered any injury or trouble due to the fire. They were evacuated safely.


    PSL CEO gave a big statement


    PSL CEO Salman Naseer told Sama TV, 'No player or team faced any problem. The fire was extinguished on time. It did not spread inside the hotel.' He further said, 'Fire brigade teams immediately started extinguishing the fire.'


    The fire was extinguished in half an hour


    The fire in the hotel was extinguished within half an hour. CDA Emergency Director Zafar Iqbal said, 'Six fire engines and 50 firefighters participated to extinguish the fire. The fire was extinguished within half an hour.'


    This was the condition of the opening match


    In the opening match of PSL 2025, Islamabad United won the toss and decided to bowl first. In such a situation, Lahore Qalandars, batting first, were all out in 19.2 overs. Lahore could only score 139 runs. Islamabad chased the target of 140 runs in just 17.4 overs.
